Welcome to the Sydney Development Circle.

The Sydney Development Circle (SDC) is a mentoring and networking group open to anyone interested in international aid and community development at the local, regional and global levels.

SDC represents people of all ages, backgrounds and experience, across diverse development sectors. There are no membership dues. A volunteer steering committee coordinates events, and members are invited to recommend speakers and topics.

Join us on Monday June 4, 2012 where Bastu Rege, founder of the non-profit organisation Santulan, will address the topic: Inspiring Change: from Grassroots Organising to Global Networking.  Bastu will share his insight and experience, and provide an opportunity for discussion on how small NGOs and individual social activists can generate global networks of support through social media and social financing models such as "crowd funding".

Seminars are scheduled monthly at the UTS Building 10, 235 Jones Street, Ultimo (see the  calendar and map below). Room location details are announced each month.

What We Do?

The Sydney Development Circle aims to provide a forum for sharing ideas and resources as well as discussing topical issues with others.

Meetings also give members and guests the opportunity to share information about the organisation they work for and their areas of experience, interest and passion in the field of development both in and out of Australia.

Special interest groups have begun to emerge, and may meet independently at any time, reporting back to the SDC meetings throughout the year.

This site is a meeting place that provides members of Sydney Development Circle with a shared calendar , discussion forums , member profiles , photo gallery , file storage and more.
